Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button Confident For World Title

Jenson ButtonIt’s anyone’s guess who the 2009 World Title will go to this year, but Brawn GP Teammates Jenson Button and Rubens Barichello are confident that they have a solid chance. They could be right, as there are only four races to go and they have gotten themselves place right at the top of the driver’s standings with just fourteen points keeping them apart. Button is at the top with 80 points while Barichello is in second with 66 points. Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel is in third place and just 12 points behind Rubens Barichello.

Even through it’s button who is currently at the top of the standings , Rubens Barrichello thinks he could pass his teammate up, as he has earned 12 points from the British driver just in the past three races. Barichello says that even through the competition is increasing fiercely as the Formula One season comes to a head very soon with just a couple of Grand Prix races left, the two teammates will remain friendly. Barrichello says that he will continue to do the same things that he always does and that nothing will change.

With two drivers vying for the title, but working out of the same places, it would be impossible for Barrichello to keep what he was doing a secret from Jensen Button, says Barrichello, so he keeps it fairly out in the open. He said that he plans to take on the last four races like any other, but that this is possibly the best time for him to try to overtake his teammate for the Championship. The Singapore Grand Prix is the next event on the Formula 1 Calendar, followed by races in Japan, Brazil and Abu Dhabi.
