The Singapore Grand Prix ended today with Lewis Hamilton out front, winning for McLaren from pole position. That position came with the indirect assistance of Rubens Barrichello, who crashed in the fifth turn, making everyone's first qualifying positions their final ones. Sebastian Vettel took his Red Bull car to fastest in Sector One and Nico Rosbert had done the same in Sector Two. Barichello crashed just twenty six seconds before the checkered, which gave Hamilton the fastest time with pole, Vettel with a time of 1 minute 48.204 seconds and Rosberg with 1 minute 28.358 seconds.
The rest of the qualifying ended up with Webber in fourth position, with a time of 48. 722, Alonso in seventh with 49. 054 and Timo Glock in eighth with 1m 49.180 seconds. Heidfeld had 1 minute 49.307 and clocked in ninth on the grid, while Kubica took tenth grid spot with 1 minute 49.514 seconds. Rubens Barichello qualified in sixth place with a time of 1 minute 48.828 seconds and ended up in the race finishing one place ahead of where he started – fifth. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton had a qualifying time of 1m 47. 891 seconds.
Even though Rubens Barichello actually qualified in fifth place, on the grid he was placed into tenth place because he had switched out his gear box after the final practice session had ended. As far as the rest of the race results, Germany's Timo Glock took runner up position on the podium and Fernando Alonso from Spain took third place for Renault. Brawn GP driver Jenson Button managed to put himself ahead of teammate Barichello by fifteen points. Button now has 84 points in the driver's standings, while Rubens Barichello has 69. Third place on the driver's rankings is Sebastian Vettel with 59 points.
