It's called the World Cup of Motorsport and it happens this weekend as the A 1 Grand Prix returns to Brands Hatch for the fourth season in a row. It all happens on what is called the May Bank Weekend and it happens Friday, May 1^st through the 3^rd. 

An exciting debut of the 'Powered By Ferrari' cars will take two races as the international field hits the track. Also returning this year is the Formula Audi Palmer Championship, the GT Cup and the Lotus on Track Elite Trophy.

Get ready for high octane excitement as these bikes take to the dirt track on the Kent circuit. The Brands Hatch Venue is the only UK venue to host a round of the World Cup of Motorsport. The Brands Hatch race is in its fourth year and is expected to prove itself once again worthy of hosting such a prestigious event.

Last year, all the teams used the same A1 GP car with the same chassis and a Zytec engine. The tires were provided by Cooper Avon and there were 22 teams competing. Last year's sprint winner was Britain while India took home the trophy for the main race. This year, all engines are provided by Ferrari, and while the chassis aren't from Ferrari themselves – they are maintaining an advisory role in the chassis production. There are 23 Teams this year – the new additions being Monaco and Japan.
