BTCC Thruxton First Race of a new Season 2010 Round One UK Live

The British Touring Car Championship has its first race this weekend, with the BTCC Thruxton, That will be round one with Round Two taking place in Rockingham, on April 25^th, moving onto Round Three in Brands Hatch. This event will take place on Easter Sunday, with so many different manufacturers including BMW, Chevrolet, SEAT, Honda, VW and Vauxhall. The British Touring Car Championship has a history that goes back to 1958 started by Ken Gregory who was the manager for driver Stirling Moss. The original entity that was responsible for the BTCC Thruxton First races was the British Racing and Sports Car Club. The first race of the British Saloon Car Championship was run that first year, and the first one that counted for points ran on Boxing Day in 1957. Tommy Sopwith won the first race behind the wheel of a 3.4 liter Jaguar from Equipe Endeavour.

Some of the drivers participating in the race include Jason Plato, Matt Neal and Mat jackson as well as WSR BMW driver Robert Collard, Alex MacDowall with Silverline Chevrolet, Tom Boardman, Martin Johnson, Paul O'Neill and Martin Depper.
