The Sprint Cup kicks off the 2010 season with two races this weekend in Daytona Beach Florida, at the 2.5 mile tri-oval track known as the the Daytona International Speedway. The main race is the Daytona 500 which is held on Sunday, February 14th, but there is also the Gatorade Duel on Thursday, February 11th. The Gatorade Duel is made up of two races, both held on Thursday and both 150 mile races which creates the qualifying line up for the Daytona 500, which will be held on Sunday, February 14th. The race is 60 laps long and began in 1959, the same year that the Daytona International Speedway was built. The speedway can accommodate over 160,000 fans and this weekend, is also hosting the Camping World Truck Series NextEra Energy Resouces 250 as well as the Drive4COPD 300 which is part of the Nationwide Series.

Last year's winners for the Gatorade Duel were Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch, and each took home just over $53,000 for this qualifying race. The two drivers who qualify for the front row are in the Daytona 500 as well as the top thirty five, using points from the last season.
