IRL Grand Prix Kansas Speedway Live

The track has been swept, the race car engines tuned to their maximum potential and the drivers themselves are biting at the bit to race, as this weekend Kansas Speedway plays host to the IRL Grand Prix this weekend. The 2009 IRL IndyCar Season started off in St. Petersburg, Florida on April 5^th. 

This race, sponsored by Road Runner High Speed Internet, is also known as the Indy 300 and it kicks off Saturday, April 25^th at 14:00, continuing on Sunday, April 26^th. 

The race everyone is looking forward to of course is the world famous Indy 500, held in Indianapolis, Indiana but the Kansas Speedway race is the first time this year the drivers have had to contend with an oval track. Fans look forward to this race, as it has produced some of the best finishes in IndyCar history, because of the wide surface of the track. 

The Kansas Speedway track is 1.5 miles in length and the turns are banked at a 15 degree angle. The front straightaway is around 10 degrees while the back straightaway angle is only 5 degrees.
