FIM Speedway World Championship Grand Prix excitement continues in the sixth race of the 2009 season, and will be on Saturday, August 15th at the G and B Stadium in Malilla, Sweden. The draw is made on the day before the race and as far as the top ranks of Speedway Grand Prix, they are various from every country and nationality it seems. Nicki Pederson is at the top of the list, from Denmark while Australia's Jason Crump is second. Pollack Tomasz Gollob is third and Greg Hancock from the USA in fourth on the list. Hans Anderson from Denmark and Leigh Adams from Australia take up places five and six respectively.

The Scandinavian Grand Prix will be held at the G&B Stadium, a track which is 305 meters long, while the stadium suppots 15,000 fans. This is race seven of the eleven race season, with the first being the Czech Grand Prix which took place back in April That race was followed by the European rand Prix, won by Leszno Crump in May, then the Swedish Grand Prix, Danish Grand Prix, Brtish Grand Prix and the Latvian Grand Prix earlier this month. After the Scandinavian Grand Prix will be the Nordic Grand Prx and the Sovenian Grand Prix in September. The last race of the season will be the Polish Grand Prix and it will be held on October 17th.

Nicki Pederson was at the top of the Speedway Grand Prix series leader board last year, earning a total of 174 points and 14 from this particular race, while Jason Crump ended up in second, takin 12 points from the Scandinavian Grand Prix. Tomasz Gollob was third last year, with 147 points total and eight points from the Scandinavia race, with the top three in the exact same position last year as they currently are.
