It’s the tenth round of the HANN spree Superbike World Championships at it all happens this weekend from July 24th to the 26th. The Brno Circuit is located at Kohoutovice, the circuit site being the site of the Czechoslovakian Grand Prix before the war, now the site of several motorcycle races throughout the year. This will be the last event before the riders take their summer break, continuing with further races starting in September. This is a very difficult circuit, with uphill and downhill parts all around, making it one of the more challenging circuits of the year. The Superbike Championship has races there consistently since 2005, and periodically before that in '93 and '96.

Out of the last four races here, three of them were won by four cylinder bikes, with emphasis on Suzuki. Riders who have made this possible are Suzuki's Troy Corser, Max Biaggi and Yukio Kagayama. Last year it was Ducati that was on top however, a welcome event for the team who has had less than perfect performances over recent years. Ducati had five riders in the top six on both races and Troy Bayliss won twice. Honda's success was brought on by James Toseland and Noriyuki Haga won with a Yamaha in the past.

Uunfortunately, Noriyuki Haga failed to make any sort of impression in 2008, and this year it may not be any better for him at the Brno circuit. His physical condition is not as good as it should be, thanks to a crash at Donington. However, he has pulled off miraculous wins before and we may be in for a pleasant surprise.
