The Dutch TT takes place at the TT Circuit Assen in Holland. In addition to the MotoGp racing, the circuit also plays host to SBK and Champ Car racing. The track features a total 17 turns, 11 right and 6 being left and a circuit length of 4.555 km. The circuit is unique in that it is the only one in the world that was specifically designed for MotoGp motorcycle racing. The 2007 race was won by Italian dynamo Valentino Rossi who was racing for Yamaha.

Rossi was able to win that 2007 race by just under 2 seconds off the pace of Casey Stoner of Ducati with the American Nicky Hayden of Honda finishing in 3^rd place. The pole position had been won by Chris Vermeulen of Australia while Rossi set the mark for the fastest lap. Last week's race in Great Britain was dominated by the aforementioned Stoner. The Australian Stoner not only set the mark for the fastest lap and won the pole, but he also won the race by 5 seconds over Yamaha Racing's Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa of Honda. It was Stoner's first win since taking the Qatar GP back in round 1 in March.

Thanks to his win Stoner has now once again cracked the top 3 of the MotoGp rider standings and sits in 3^rd place with 117 points. The Spaniard Dani Pedrosa of Honda MotoGp racing is 2^nd with 151 points while Rossi is the leader with 162 points. Rossi has finished in first or second place in each of the last 5 races. The manufacturers' table has Yamaha ahead with 180 points and they are followed by Honda and Ducati MotoGp.
