The Team LCR is based Monte Carlo, Monaco and is participating in the MotoGP championship for the 12^th time this year. This team is therefore considered to be one of the older teams and they are competing under the name of Honda LCR this year. The team is affiliated to Honda and so they rely on Honda engines in their cars.

It was back in the year 1996 that this team joined the MotoGP World championship and they started off with Lucio Cecchinello, who was basically the founder of the very team. Two years later the team won the first Grand Prix at Jarama, the Madrid Grand Prix. In 2001 Cecchinello won all over again at the Catalan Grand Prix in the hyear 2002 the team participated in both the classes and Cecchinello won thrice and got two second places. With him teamed up Alex De Angelis who got one second place. The Australian driver Casey Stoner and Spanish David Chera took part in the 250cc class of the championship.

When the Italian Grand Prix ended in the year 2003 Lucio decided to retire after having an eventful season along with fellow team mate Casey Stoner. Randy De Puniet got the fourth position in the final standing that season with three victories and nine podium positions. In 2004 the team competed with Randy De Puniet, Roberto Locatelli and Mattia Pasini and in 2005 they competed only for the 250cc class with Roberto

Locatelli and Casey Stoner. It was in this season that Stoner ended up as runner up with five wins throughout the season. In 2006 the Honda LCR team with driver Stoner finished in the second position. Carlos Checa joined the team for the year 2007. For the present season as well as for the next one Randy De Puniet is rejoining the team and right now he is holding the fifteenth position.
